Activists of 'Jansankhya Samadhan' today sent a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding promulgation of a separate law to restrict population growth in the country.

They staged a sit-in and raised slogans here to register their protest against rising population of India, media coordinator of the organisation Jay Dixit said.

A memorandum has also been sent to the Prime Minister through the District Magistrate to promulgate a separate law in tune with the Chinese legislation to restrict the population growth in the country, the media coordinator said.

Two-children policy must be adopted and enforced on all countrymen, Dixit said, adding due to rising pressure of population, children are not getting compulsory education and employment opportunities have shrunk.
