Vigilance sleuths today caught an additional tahasildar red handed on charge of accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000 for issuance of record of rights (ROR) to a man in Kendrapara district.
The arrested additional tahasildar, posted at Garadpur in Kendrapara district, was identified as Umesh Chandra Lenka.
Vigilance officials said the sleuths nabbed him while accepting money from one Jugala Kishore Mahali of Nadia Banali village under Patakura police station.

Mahali alleged that he had filed a case for ROR of his land and requested accused Lenka to issue the ROR but he demanded Rs 3,000 for it.
Vigilance, Cuttack Division, then laid a trap and Lenka was caught red handed in his office room while accepting bribe Rs 3,000.
The bribe money Rs 3,000 was recovered from the possession of Lenka.
An investigation is in progress, officials said.
