An Afghan couple were today apprehended at the Delhi airport for allegedly using a fake travel ticket to see their daughter off, official sources said.

Sayed Omar and his wife, N Sayedy, were apprehended around 6:30 am when CISF personnel found them roaming suspiciously inside the Terminal-3 (T3) building of the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, they said.

The couple told the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel that they used a cancelled ticket to enter the terminal to see their daughter off, who was travelling to Kabul, the sources added.

The couple, from Afghanistan, were subsequently handed over to the police, they said.

Entering an airport terminal without a valid ticket is illegal under the country's aviation rules.
