An Afghan couple travelling in a Delhi-bound express train was robbed last night, police said.
Rahimuddin, 45, and his wife were travelling in Chennai- New Delhi Tamil Nadu Express when their bag containing USD 1,600, 10,000 Afghanis, some Indian notes and medicines for his wife were stolen, they said.
Rahimuddin told police he is in India for his wife's treatment.
The theft took place in the AC-2 compartment of the train. The Afghan national has lodged a complaint with the Government Railway Police here.
