AGP leader joins BJP

Former Assam Assembly Speaker

and Asom Gana Parishad leader Pulakesh Baruah today joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.

At a programme in the BJP state head office, Baruah joined the saffron camp along with a group of his supporters, a BJP spokesperson said.

Baruah was the Speaker of the first AGP government in 1985 and was elected to the Assembly twice.

Before joining the BJP, he was serving as the vice president of AGP.
