Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for Chandigarh and Ahmedabad rose by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today on tight position of trucks.
Transporters said shortage of trucks, against pick up in cargo movements, mainly pushed up freight rates for select destinations.
Delhi to Ahmedabad and Chandigarh rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 26,000 and Rs 23,000.
Elsewhere, rates for other centres were maintained at previous levels on some support.
