AIADMK today filed a complaint with the District Election Officer, seeking action against those who installed a plaque on the premises of a temple near here carrying the names of some ministers in a "clear case of violation" of model code of conduct.

AIADMK Puducherry unit secretary and MLA A Anbalagan, who filed the complaint, said the temple's trustee objected to the erection of the plaque - with the names of the Chief Minister and Electricity and Welfare Ministers - in the premises.

A group of persons allegedly owing allegiance to the Ministers attacked the trustee for his objection to the installation of the plaque, he said in a release.

The trustee, the secretary of the Bahoor unit of the AIADMK, had complained to the police and sought action against those who assaulted him.

Demanding action against the assailants, Anbalagan requested the DEO to order removal of the plaque as it had been erected with names of Ministers in violation of the model code of conduct in force for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
