Air Commodore Pramod Madhukar Puranik, VSM, today took over the command of No. 3 Base Repair Depot (BRD) of the Indian Air Force (IAF) from Air Commodore A K Barik, VSM.
Air Commodore Barik commanded 3 BRD from May 6, 2013 to November 30, 2014, an official spokesman said here.
Air Commodore Puranik was commissioned as an engineer in Aeronautical Engineering (Mechanical) branch of the IAF.

"He is trained on Russian helicopters and fighter aircraft. He has a rich experience of operational units, flying, training and staff assignments," the spokesman said.
He held important appointments like Chief Engineering Officer at forward helicopter and transport base of IAF and was an Air Force Examiner for Flight Engineers.
He held an important portfolio at Air Headquarters and commanded an Aeronautical Quality Assurance Wing. He was also an instructor at College of Air Warfare.
