AISSF demand SIT probe in 1984 anti-Sikh riots

All India Sikh Students' Federation (AISSF) today demanded a probe by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to provide justice to the victims of 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

AISSF Bihar-Jharkhand unit president Satnam Singh Gambhir said the compensation announced by the Centre was insufficient as the Sikh community wanted justice rather than the compensation.

Gambhir demanded constitution of a SIT to probe the riots, which triggered after the assassination of then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and punish the culprits.
