Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for instituting a CBI inquiry into the wrestler Narsingh Yadav case.
CBI inquiry will be able to bring out the reality about charges levelled against him because of which he could not take part in the recent Rio Olympics, an official release quoted the letter Akhilesh sent to Modi.
He also attached a letter from the wrestler in which he (Narsingh) had pointed out a "conspiracy" behind the entire episode, it said, adding Akhilesh said the wrestler had recently met him and told him about his doubts and the need for the CBI inquiry.
An impartial inquiry will not only ensure proper action against those responsible for the conspiracy, if found in the probe, but also put a check on any negative activity in competitive sports, he said.
