Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today hosted Roza iftar at his official residence here which witnessed a huge turnout of the people.
SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, Governor B L Joshi, prominent Muslim clerics, ulemas, ministers, bureaucrats, MLAs and people were present on the occasion which took place at 5 Kalidas Marg, the residence of state chief minister.
While Akhilesh welcomed the guests, prayers were offered for peace in the country.
Prominent ministers present on the occasion included Shivpal Yadav, Ahmad Hasan, Balram Yadav, Rajendra Chaudhary, Ram Govind Chaudhary and Arvind Singh Gope.
Speaking on the occasion, Health Minister Ahmad Hasan said that huge turnout of the people was indicator of the rising popularity of the SP-led government in the state.
