Alleged history-sheeter murdered

An alleged history-sheeter was shot dead by the members of a rival gang at Adityapur in Seraikela-Kharswan district, police today said.

The body of Chandan Singh was recovered from near a pond in Rapcha village under Gamariah police station limits today, police said.

"We have found eight empty cartridge shells from the spot," Officer-in-Charge of Adityapur Police Station Jaiprakash Rana said.

He said Chandan was abducted a day before and murdered by members of the rival gang on Monday night.

An FIR was registered against eight persons.

Rana said Chandan was an accused in a murder case.
