Aluminium, copper soften on reduced offtake, global cues

Aluminium and copper prices moved down by Rs 2 per kg at the local non-ferrous metal market today on reduced industrial offtake amid a weak global trend.

Traders said sentiments weakened as aluminium sank in global markets after data showed China's factory output growth slowed in October.

Meanwhile, Aluminium for delivery in three months slid 0.3 per cent to USD 2,054.25 a metric tonne in the London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, aluminium ingots, sheet cutting, wire scrap and utensils scrap went down by Rs 2 each to Rs 164,Rs 165, Rs 167 and Rs 164 per kg respectively.
 

Copper mixed scrap also ended lower by the same margin to Rs 425 per kg.

Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):

Zinc ingot 118-124, Nickel plate (4x4) 1,080-1,086, Gun metal scrap 227, Bell metal scrap 229, Copper mixed scrap 425, Chadri deshi 285.

Lead ingot 102, Lead imported 103, Aluminium ingots 164, Aluminium sheet cutting 165, Aluminium wire scrap 167 and Aluminium utensils scrap 164.
