Aluminium prices softened by 0.28 per cent to Rs 123.75 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced exposure in view of ending monthly expiry amid easing demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in January declined by 35 paise, or 0.28 per cent to Rs 123.75 per kg in business turnover of 112 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in February contracts was trading lower by a similar margin to Rs 123.60 per kg in 20 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by participants ahead of monthly expiry coupled with slackened demand from consuming industries in the physical market led to decline in aluminium prices at futures trade.
