Aluminium strengthens on global cues, uptick in demand

Aluminium prices firmed up by Rs 3 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today on increased buying by stockists, driven by a firm trend overseas amid pick-up in demand from consuming industries.
Traders said, apart from firm global cues, increased offtake by stockists due to uptick in demand from consuming industries at the domestic spot market, mainly led to a rise in aluminium prices.
In the national capital, aluminium ingots, sheet cutting, wire scrap and utensils scrap were trading up by Rs 3 each to Rs 164, Rs 160, Rs 160 and Rs 158 per kg, respectively.
Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot Rs 126-132, nickel plate (4x4) Rs 835-840, gun metal scrap Rs 227, bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 424, chadri deshi Rs 295.
Lead ingot Rs 125, lead imported Rs 132, aluminium ingots Rs 164, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 160, aluminium wire scrap Rs 160 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 158.
