Nearly 6,000 people have registered with a website of the Alwar district administration to help those in need of blood donors, an official said today.
The initiative to connect donors to recipients was launched in August.
"Donors from all blood groups have registered themselves on the website, www.bloodbankalwar.com. We have 5,983 donors on our database, which has been uploaded on the web portal," District Collector Rajan Vishal said.

People can search for donors on the website and contact them, he said.
"Our target is to have more than 10,000 donors regsitered with the website," Charu Agrawal, Deputy Director of the district IT Department, said.
The collector said, "Six NGOs have been asked to provide details of the blood donation camps they organise on the website.
