American Corner opened in Kottayam public library

An American Corner was opened in the Kottayam public library today in partnership with the US Consulate in Chennai, offering access to a variety of US magazines, DVDs and other information and entertainment material to the public.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, who inaugurated the facility in the presence of US Consul General in Chennai, Jennifer Mcintyre, said this was a major step in cementing cultural relationship between Kerala and US consulate in Chennai.

The American Corner will serve as a window to the life and culture of the people of the US for the people of Kottayam and other regions of Kerala, consular officials said.
 

The resources will contain books and magazines, including resources for children, youth and adults, English language learning materials, education USA materials, DVDs, and access to e-library USA.
