Shares of auto components maker Amtek Auto today surged nearly 6 per cent ahead of the company's board meet to consider a proposal for infusing fresh equity by new investors and restructuring of the firm.
The stock jumped 5.57 per cent to close at Rs 40.75 on BSE. During the day, it climbed 8 per cent to Rs 41.70.
At NSE, shares of the company soared 5.55 per cent to end at Rs 40.85.

On the volume front, 8.41 lakh shares of the company were traded on BSE and over 36 lakh shares changed hands at NSE during the day.
A meeting of the board is scheduled to be held on November 30 to consider the proposals, Amtek Auto had said in a regulatory filing on Saturday.
Simultaneously, a joint meeting of board of directors of Amtek, Castex Technologies and ARGL Ltd is also being convened to discuss the individual board meeting and deliberate on the infusion of fresh equity by the new investors, it added.
