Press Trust of India New Delhi

The smoggy condition is due to low temperature and lack of wind, but it is likely to dispel after November 7 when the weather will experience some change in wind pattern due to approaching western disturbance, a MeT official said.

The city today witnessed a dip of four degree Celsius in maximum temperature, which was recorded at 26.5 degree C, while the minimum temperature rose by a degree to 15.6 degree C, MeT department said.

The humidity level oscillated between 50 per cent and 96 per cent.

The Met office has forecast shallow fog or mist till tomorrow forenoon. The sky is likely to remain clear during the day.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to remain around 27 and 15 degrees Celsius.

The cause of smoggy weather has been attributed to non dispersal of pollutants due to lower temperature and lower wind speed. Also, the city's air pollution has continued to this type of weather, an official said.
