Ansel Elgort to play Cold War pianist

Actor Ansel Elgort, who has been winning hearts with his role in weepy teen romance 'The Fault in Our Stars', has signed on to play an American pianist in the Cold War-set drama.

"Some news on the movie front," Elgort tweeted.

The 20-year-old actor will play Van Cliburn, an American pianist who won the Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition at the height of the Cold War.

The film 'Van Cliburn' is based on the Howard Reich book of the same name.

Cliburn died of bone cancer last year at the age of 78.
