Anteater found in farm released into wild

An anteater found in the farm of a farmer near here today was handed over to forest officials who released it into the wild.

"The anteater was found in the farm of Sundaram, a farmer of Pattrai Perumputhur village and it was released in the Pullarambaakkam reserve forest area near Poondi reservoir," Forester, Tiruvallur Range, X Rufus Lesly told PTI.

Anteater or pangolin that was rescued weighed about 9 kg and it is a harmless creature, he added.
