BJP MP and party candidate from the Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat Anurag Thakur has served legal notices on Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, Congress state president Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu for "tarnishing" his image by making defamatory statements during the campaign.
He has also served notice on Congress candidate Rajinder Singh Rana.
BJP's election in-charge in Hamirpur Praveen Sharma told reporters here today that Anurag has sought apology from these Congress leaders for their statements within one week, failing which he would sue them in the court of law.

Sharma said that the BJP would also move the Election Commission against these Congress leaders for creating a wave of hatred against the party candidate who is the national president of its youth wing.
He alleged that the Congress leaders were indulging in character assassination which was harmful for the country's polity and the people.
