AP: VRO sentenced to two years in jail in bribery case

The village revenue officer of Gorinta village in Ponduru mandal of Srikakulam district was today sentenced to two years' rigorous imprisonment for taking bribe.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 4,000 on Ponturu Venkateswarlu, the official.

Anti-Corruption Bureau had trapped him in May 2011 while taking Rs 2,000 from S Appala Naidu to verify latter's property titles for obtaining solvency certificate, said DSP (ACB), Srikakulam, K Ranga Raju.
