A cache of arms, including 11 rocket launchers, allegedly belonging to Maoists was today unearthed in a forest area in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh.
According to Prakasam District Superintendent of Police, Ch Srikanth, the arms dump was detected during a search operation from Nallamalla forests in Burugundala following a tip off.
About 11 rocket launchers, one AK magazine, a single barrel 'tapancha' (short weapon), rocket launcher spears, gas cutters, packing machines and drilling bits were seized from the site, the police officer said.
However, he denied that any Maoist movement had been detected in the forest area currently and said that investigation is on.
