Army Chief meets Children from Imphal

Army chief Gen Bipin Rawat today asked the children to join the Indian Army, do well and serve the nation's cause.

Meeting a group of school children from Manipur here, Gen Rawat shared his experience to motivate them.

The children had come to the national capital as part of 'Operation Sadhbhavana', a national integration tour comprising of 20 students from various schools of Imphal, the Army said.

He inspired them to join the Indian Army, do well and serve the cause of the nation.

"The Army Chief made all children understand the importance of peace and inspired children that they must spread the message and ensure that peace returns," the statement added.
 

The tour was flagged off from Imphal on January 5 and during the course of their tour, the participants visited various cultural and historical places in Delhi and Agra.

The tours are educational and motivational ones for school children, youth and local populace of Jammu and Kashmir and Northeastern states, with an aim to provide an insight into the rich heritage of the country, various developmental and industry initiatives, it said.
