Army helicopter makes unscheduled emergency landing

An Army helicopter made an unscheduled 'emergency' landing in this district following a suspected 'mechanical fault,' a senior police official here said.

The chopper was flying from Bengaluru to Chennai when it landed in a secluded open space near Ambur in this district following the fault, the official said without elaborating.

There were reportedly no injuries to anyone.

Defence officials could not be immediately reached for a comment.
