Army intercepts infiltrating terrorists; 2 soldiers hurt

Two soldiers were injured today in an encounter that erupted after Army intercepted a group of terrorists near the Line of Control (LoC) while they were trying to infiltrate from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) through Macchil sector of Kupwara district of Kashmir.

Alert army troops foiled an infiltration bid in Machhil sector this afternoon, an army official said here.

He said the militants have been engaged by the soldiers and exchange of firing was going on till reports last came in.

Two soldiers were injured in the ongoing operation, the official said, adding both the injured jawans have been evacuated and their condition is stable.
