Army porter feared dead in avalanche in J&K's Bandipora

A 28-year-old Army porter was today feared dead following an avalanche in Gurez area of Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

Ghulam Mohammad Khan came under the avalanche triggered by fresh snowfall and rains in Tulail while returning from a forward post in Gurez sector, a police official said.

The Army along with the police and locals began a search operation for Khan but could not find him till late this evening, the official added.
