Army's Infantry Day celebrated in JK

Maj Gen Surinder Singh, General Officer Commanding of the Tiger Division, laid a floral wreath at the Tiger War Memorial in Jammu Cantonment on the occasion.

In a ceremony conducted with full military honours, Singh along with serving and veteran officers, JCOs and jawans paid homage to those soldiers who had laid down their lives for the nation.

On October 27, 1947, the Army undertook its first military operation in Jammu and Kashmir and thwarted the designs of Pakistani raiders to annex the Kashmir Valley.
