The army today sent a group of 25 students from the remote areas of Reasi district on a ten-day educational-cum-motivational tour to Mumbai and Pune under "Operation Sadbhavana".
The tour was flagged-off by the Commanding Officer of Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, based at Sarh in Mahore thesil of the district today, a defence spokesman said.
The aim of the tour is to showcase the country's development to the youth from remote areas and to provide them with an opportunity to visit important places of interest and to interact with the people of those regions, including eminent personalities, thereby widening their horizon, he said.

The students will get an opportunity to visit prestigious industries, establishments and historic monuments in Mumbai and Pune, he said adding they will also get an opportunity to interact with senior army officers and civil dignitaries during the tour.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commander said during the tour, the students would give the message of peace and harmony and learn from the rich cultural heritage of our country.
He also thanked the students' parents and the school for supporting army's efforts.
