Army truck knocks man down

A person was killed in Assam's Sonitpur district this evening when he was allegedly hit by an army truck.

Golap Nath, resident of Da-Beseria area near here, died on the spot when the army vehicle knocked him down at Mission Chariali, police sources said.

An irate mob later damaged the vehicle as its driver and some jawans fled from the spot, the sources said.

The people blocked the road immediately afterwards not allowing movement of army vehicles.
