Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki here today met Home Minister Rajnath Singh and discussed with him the prevailing situation in the Northeastern state.
During the 15-minute meeting, Tuki briefed the Home Minister on the security situation in the border state which has seen insurgency of NSCN(IM), NDFB and ULFA militants, official sources said.
The Chief Minister also apprised Singh on the status of the Chakma-Hajong refugees and the implication of the Supreme Court order granting Indian citizenship to the community, which had migrated to India from Bangladesh about four decades ago.
The Arunachal Pradesh government has already filed a review petition in the Supreme Court urging it to reconsider the decision as many people in the state are opposed to granting citizenship to Chakma-Hajong refugees living in the state.
