Assam Open to commence in January

The 38th All Assam Amateur Invitational Golf Championship is scheduled to be held in January next year at Digboi Golf Club, said an Upper Assam Golf Association release today.

The annual event, popularly known as Assam Open, started in 1977. It will be held from January 29 under the aegis of the Upper Assam Golf Association, attracting more than 250 amateur golfers from across the country, the release said.

It will be a three-day long event.

This tournament has been encouraging golfing talent and over the years has witnessed highly competitive golf, it said.
