Assembly pays tributes to Munde

Karnataka Assembly today paid tributes to late BJP leader Gopinath Munde, who died in a road mishap recently, and described him as the leader of the backward class communities.

"Munde was a leader of backward class communities, including Banjaras," Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said paying homage to Munde in the State Assembly on the opening of the 27-day legislature session here.

He said Munde was a dynamic leader, who succeeded in whatever position given by BJP or the government of the day.

The chief minister said Munde was very keen on performing his duties as the Union Rural Development Minister when the tragedy struck in an unfortunate incident.
 

Siddaramaiah also paid rich tributes to former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister S Janardhan Reddy and renowned cinematographer V K Murthy, who died during the inter-session period.

Murthy was a jailed freedom fighter and filmmaker Guru Dutt's regular cameraman in his films.

Other departed leaders who were remembered were former Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker S Mallikarjunaiah, former MLAs K Prabhakar Reddy and H S Shankarlinge Gowda and renowned Kannada writer Yeshwanth Chittala.
