An Assistant Municipal Commissioner (AMC) of Kalyan Dombivili Municipal Corporation was today arrested by the Thane unit of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1.50 lakh, police said.
AMC Ganesh Borade (54) had allegedly demanded Rs 6.50 lakh from the complainant for issuing a certificate for the demolition of his building and to issue notices to two corporators, DYSP Rajesh Bagalkote of the Thane unit of the ACB said in an official release.
It was decided that the first instalment of the bribe money would be received by Borade at his office at Dombivili H Ward today, said the officer.

Following a complaint, a trap was laid and the ACB sleuths caught the officer red-handed while accepting an amount of Rs 1.50 lakh, Bagalkote added.
A case under the relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 was registered against Borade and a probe was underway, police said.
This is the second time the officer has been apprehended by the ACB for allegedly accepting bribe. In 2014, he was held for accepting a bribe of Rs 3 lakh and was out on bail, police said.
