Various irregularities including lack of maintenance of various machines and non-maintenance of procurement register among others have been noticed in an internal audit conducted in Delhi Government run Deel Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital here.
It also found that hospital administration was allegedly purchasing extra instrument for use in its operation theatre.
The audit, which was conducted by the Delhi Government, found that many machines and medical devices were lying non-functional due to the lack of maintenance.

"Moreover, medical devices procured were not being mentioned on purchase register," it said.
The examination of log books found that a number of instrument and machines including cardio monitor, compression therapy unit and ProTime INR (used to confirm clotting tendency of blood) among others were lying non-functional and also have not been repaired since 2010, the audit report said.
Various stock of medical accessories and screws like Cannulated and cortical screws and Broad LC-DCP plates, used for ortho treatment was also lying in the hospital store, official sources said quoting findings of the audit report.
These irregularities were brought to the notice of hospital management but no action was taken, it said.
