Audit officer arrested on bribery charges

An audit officer posted in Cooperative Societies in Rohtak was today arrested by Haryana state vigilance bureau for taking bribe, officials said.

Jugesh Devi was caught while taking Rs 5,000 bribe from the complainant, an Inspector posted at the Cooperative Societies, to process his application seeking permission for higher studies, they said.

According to complainant Ram Niwas, Devi had demanded money to process his case.
