Australian national dies in mishap

An Australian national died after his motorcycle was hit by a truck on a bridge in Bihar's Rohtas district, police said.

John A Moran, the Australian, was on his way to Sasaram from Patna when the heavy vehicle mowed him down under Town police station area, they said.

Moran (66) died on the spot and the body has been sent for post-mortem.

On the basis of papers, found lying by his side, it was ascertained that he was a native of Melbourne.

The Australian High Commission in New Delhi has been informed.
