Avril Lavigne, Chad Kroeger set for wedding on Canada Day

Avril Lavigne and Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger were due to get married at a ceremony in Cannes.

The couple, who were originally thought to have tied the knot on Saturday, are hosting a Canadian-themed wedding in Cannes, reported Digital Spy.

The theme was chosen to honour Canada Day (July 1) and the pair have supposedly chosen red and white decor for the venue.

Lavigne, 28, and Kroeger, 38, got engaged last August, after they worked together on the 'Complicated' hitmaker's upcoming fifth studio album.

Lavigne, was previously married to 'Sum 41' star Deryck Whibley for three years before filing for divorce in 2009.
