Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Ghulam Nabi Azad said there is need to ensure formulation and implementation of Disaster Management plans in a more effective and organised manner in the Chenab region.
There is need to ensure formulation and implementation of Disaster Management plans in a more effective and organised manner in the region to minimise loss of life and property in such disasters, Azad said while addressing a series of public meetings in Doda district today.
Azad, accompanied by Minister for PWD and Mechanical Engineering Abdul Majid Wani visited the earthquake hit areas of Doda District in the Valley.

Underlining the need to create awareness among people about precautions and measures to be taken during natural calamities, Azad said, every effort is being taken up to ensure necessary relief to the quake-hit people.
Tents have been provided by the Indian Red Cross Society for distribution among the severely affected people, he said.
