B.Tech student commits suicide

A B.Tech first year student

allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself here, police said today.

20-year-old Siddhant Khandelwal, who hailed from Moolraj area in Bareilly, committed suicide last night by hanging himself at his uncle's house in Kakadev area, where he was living.

Khandelwal, a first year student of HBTI Engineering College, returned to his uncle's house yesterday from Bareilly, Gopichandra Yadav, Station Officer at Kalyanpur Police Station said.

When the victim did not come out of his room till late in the night, the family members broke open the door and found the boy hanging from the window, the officer said.
 

The body has been sent for post mortem and a probe is on in the matter, police said.
