Baby elephant found dead in Odisha

A female calf of an elephant was found dead in the Megha reserve forest of the district, a forest official said today.

The carcass of the baby elephant, aged around two years, was found in the forest near Kaimati under Dhenkanal Sadar Range last night, said P K Sahu, the Divisional Forest Officer of Dhenkanal.

Efforts were on to ascertain the circumstances under which the elephant died, he said.
