The group Mutha Industries Pvt Ltd, laid the foundation stone for the manufacturing unit on 9.65 acre at Bodhjungnagar Industrial Estate yesterday, TIDC Chairman, Pabitra Kar said.
Different types of tiles made of bamboo, which grows in abundance in the state, will be produced in the industrial unit using Chinese equipment and technology, Kar told PTI.
The TIDC Chairman expected that construction will be completed within a year with experts from China to give training in the unit which would employ 100 workers.
The state government which has been encouraging bamboo plantations, has established a full-fledged Bamboo Park last year on 101 acre for setting up industries.
