Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya today said the Telangana government should release its contribution towards the premium of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) or crop scheme for Kharif.
The minister today held a review meeting with the officials of state Agriculture department and representatives of various insurance companies.
"The state government should release about Rs 72 crore towards its share for the premium for Kharif. The scheme is for the benefit of farmers. There should not be any political issues in implementing the scheme. About 6.20 lakh farmers will benefit from the PMFBY," Dattatreya told reporters in a press conference.
