Bangkok-bound passenger frisked, antique found

A Bangkok-bound airpassenger was arrested after antique artefacts were recovered from him at the N S C Bose International Airport today.

Airport sources said Jitendra Gupta (22), hailing from Uttar Pradesh, was intercepted on his way to Bangkok in Bhutan Airlines flight in the departure hall of the airport.

Sixteen pieces of wooden artefacts, 33 pieces of metal statue and one antique-looking metal bowl were recovered from him, the sources said.

His accomplice Shribash Paul was detained after interrogating Gupta.
