In a punitive action, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation today attached a bank account of TDI Mall in Jasola for failing to pay up property tax to the tune of over Rs 1.5 crore.

The Corporation's property tax department took the action after repeated notices to pay up the dues failed to elicit any response from the proprietors of the mall, said a senior official of SDMC.

The Jasola District Centre, popularly known as TDI mall, is run by M/s Brightways Housing and Land Development Ltd and it has a total dues of Rs 1,52,02,531 to the SDMC as property tax, the official said.

The official said the bank account of the proprietors of the mall in New Delhi branch of Indian Bank has been attached.

When contacted Public Relations Officer of TDI Mall Kalpana Gautam said the company did not want to comment on the issue.

In last few months, SDMC had attached bank accounts of a number of private entities.
