Bank manager caught accepting Rs 1000 bribe

A rural bank manager was today caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 1,000 from a person, by the Lokayukta police at Khargone district.

Narmada-Malwa Rural Bank's Sagaon branch manager R L Pagare was arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs 1,000 from a resident Dhathapura village, a Lokayukta Inspector said.

The accused has demanded the bribe from Rajiv Chauhan for releasing Rs 50,000 sanctioned to him under Chief Minister Rural Housing Scheme, the inspector said.

Following this, Chauhan lodged a complaint with us and we laid a trap and caught Pagare. The accused has been booked under the relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act and further investigations are on, he added.
