Bank strike continues to hit Rajasthan for second day

Banking operations continued to be closed for the second day in Rajasthan as employees were on strike demanding a revision in wages.
Around 5,000 branches of public sector banks remained closed following a nationwide strike called by bank unions to press for their demand of wage revisions, said Mahesh Mishra, General Secretary of All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) here today.
"Thirty thousand bank employees in the state are participating in the national strike. An overall banking business worth Rs 2,500 crore was impacted in two days in Rajasthan," he added.
