Banned gutka worth Rs 7 lakh seized in Erode, one held

Banned Gutka worth around Rs 7 lakh was seized during raids conducted at a house here today and one person arrested in this connection, Food and Safety department said.

Acting on a tip-off, officials conducted a raid in a house at Indiranagar and found 83 bundles of Gutka kept in a room, Safety Officer of Food and Safety Department, Erode, Kalaivani told reporters here.

The house owner was arrested and is being questioned, she said.
