Banned medicinal herb Nag Chhatri seized, one held in JK

Police today arrested a person and recovered about 1.20 quintal of banned rare medicinal herb 'Nag Chhatri' from him in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted a vehicle at Chanderkote along Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, an official said.
During search of the vehicle, seven bags of Nag Chhatri (Trillium govanianum) weighing 1.20 quintal were seized and Ghulam Abbass, the driver, was arrested, he said.
A case under the Forest Act has been registered, he said.
